Hello. 1st time here. My wife has this ring we know nothing about except she has had it for many years. It had gotten tarnished so I cleaned it. It appears to be gold but is stamped SS925 so is sterling silver- gold layered silver?
but, behind the SS925 is a 5pt. star with something inside of it. I cannot quite make it out and the photos I took do not let me see it. I’m hoping somebody familiar with the mark could recognize it and give me some info on this.
Not quite up on posting photos on this site and my files are pretty large so I decided to put these in Photobucket and provide thumbnails for viewing.

Any info would be most welcome because we know nothing about this.
