Don’t know anything about this except my dad and his parents were Catholic.
Could of been my grandmother’s. It has Sterling marked on the clasp and the icon( virgin mary?) and a date of 1830. Don’t know if that’s the actual date or that is of some other significant meaning. Letters on back of icon are -iM- and stars.
Don’t know what the stones are or if that’s a real pearl. Thank you.

Thanks so much.

Definitely not a rosary as there are no beads on the chain for saying the prayers. I agree with LizBC. No idea of value, sorry. Try marketing it to religiosity collectors rather than jewelry collectors. It may sell faster.

Here is a link to something on the same order as yours, but more intricate. May give you pricing ideas.

Thanks so much for that. I had no idea. I am looking to sell it but I don’t know what I should ask for it. Thanks again

Hi! It’s a Miraculous Medal. The date 1830 is the date of the apparition of the Virgin Mary to St. Catherine Laboure. Looks like yours might be a necklace. Sorry I don’t know anything about the value. I collect rosaries and medals but none of mine are antiques. 🙂

Are you sure its 1830 and not just 830 ?? Does not look to be a rosary !! They usually have some religious symbol and yours does not !! I think its just a necklace probably late 1800`s or early 1900`s !!

Thanks for the info.
