I have a The Standard Red Cedar Chest, Altavista, Va. There are no visible serial or model type numbers on the chest. However, inside the lid and on the inside bottom of the chest is the number #110 hand stamped on both pieces. I am trying to find out just what the number means? Any info would be great..thanks

Try emailing the Lane Company with good pics !! I am sure they have records on the Standard company !! They are usually very willing to help those that own their chests !!

Thanls for the info. Was doing some research on the chest. I have had it about 35 years.I got it from my grandmother. I remember sitting on it as a little boy and later on my grandparents were well traveled and they kept all their vacation mementos in it. I am passing it on soon to my niece as a wedding gift. Just getting info to write up and pass on to her. Thanks again….

That would likely be the style number !! Standard cedar chests were made by the son of Lane Cedar Chests between 1912 and 1922 !! Only in business for a few years years then taken over by the Lane company !! The style number is only helpful to those that made the chests !! Check ebay for current sales !! Value depends on the style and condition !!
