I have a set of cast iron gnomes that have been in the family for many decades. I am wondering if anyone knows the maker, possible value. I have not found any but one on the internet (one with watering can). These are 3 dimensional with full back profiles. The one I saw was only the front mold only. They are about 28″ high and extremely heavy.
A family member wanted to divide them up, but thought they should be kept as a set. Any information would be extremely helpful. I hope my jpeg image will download. Sorry the picture is a bit dark.
Thanks

I’m afraid you might never find out the maker. According to Kovel’s books, all their cast iron garden furnishing in books have no signiture and are being made continuosly. I found one in 2009 book, . gnome with water can, full figure, plain black or dark brown 29 in. $695.00, another newer one with wheelbarrow priced at $98.00 I live near a foundry that makes lot’s of cast iron items and sells them to the antique and collectable shops in area. none are marked. As a set like your’s to the right person i could see your set sell for over $400.00.
