I found this drum in a storage locker. It is hand carved with a real skin. The metal banding is rusty and broken. There are symbols around the top and bottom and a warrior riding a dragon on 2 sides and a woman riding a phoenix on the other 2 sides. The drum stands approximately 2 feet tall including the carved legs and is approximately 14 inches in diameter.Someone suggested the symbols are for Shou, but, I have not seen an example of a Shou symbol that looks like this. I am trying to date this and find out it’s value. Any help would be appreciated. I have not been able to find anyone who has seen one like this.Sorry I have been unable to load the pics.
