Any idea what this is? Wooden cabinet with pull-down “roll-top” door. Cubbys are about 4″ x 4″. Center of cabinet has groves that may have had shelves at an angle. Several of the cubbys contain metal canisters. Canisters are about 6″ tall don’t appear to have any marks on them. Inside each canister is a wooden canister (light-weight wood – like balsa wood). Inside of metal and wood canisters are clean so it doesn’t appear they held any liquid or other items that would have discolored them.
Yes, please feel free to share. I have no idea where this came from or how old it is. The back and underneath are unfinished wood as if it may have sat on another piece of furniture and backed to a wall. It was either built specifically for these canisters or whomever used it got it because they fit so well in the cubbys. No one seems to have a clue what the canisters were used for – possibly letters, documents? My oldest son did auctions, estate clean-outs, etc and passed away suddenly Aug 25th so we are now starting to go through some of his stuff. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
