This is my first piece of ironstone, and I’ve been searching for awhile on what exactly the piece is. Can anyone please help me identify it? I’ve attracted some pictures hope those help.

Your mark belongs to Vodrey Brothers, (VB in circle) East Liverpool, Ohio !! This mark was used between 1857 and 1885 !!
Not sure what the use for this item is !! You did not give size !! Looks like it may have been what is known as a slop jar and would have been used with a pitcher and bowl set on a wash stand !! After washing up the dirty water would have been poured into the slop jar to be discarded later !! Size will tell if thats what it is !!

Thank you so much! I didn’t expect the marking to date back that far. I measured it just now, and it’s 9 inches tall, and the lid measures 9 inches across.

I thought it might be a chamber pot actually, I’ll look into a slop jar though. I am having a tough time finding another one that looks like it to compare, and say what it’s definitely used for.
