Would like to know about this Speckled Ceramic Pottery Bowl. The bowl was signed with the initials; NA. I don’t know if my eyes are deceiving me, or not, but it looks like lettering is carved into the bottom of the bowl. The bowl has brown and gray speckles with dark blue dripping around the inner rim of the bowl.
My questions:
Who is the Artist?
Is this Ceramic, Pottery?
Is there any value to the bowl, and if so, how much.
Thank you for your time.
Several mfrs made this type of kitchen ware !! Darker brown is the most common color !! Anything with the royal blue usually sells better than the brown because it was less common !! In looking at the bottom I think this bowl was probably made around mid century,, 1940 to 1950 or in that area !! Back in that time there were few cooks who did not have two or three of these bowls !! Earthenware pitchers were also very popular !! My mother used one for years !! Good luck with your sale !!
