Hello

I am asking for help in identifying a maker for a tea/coffee service the age of which is unclear possibly 1950’s maybe earlier as the sugar bowl is large.

The mark appears to be a lower case ‘a ‘with a line under (underscored) and the numbers 5234 painted below the glaze.

Picture attached, if anyone can help I would be very grateful

Can you post a pic of the tea/coffee pot ?? Please make the pic size about 40 KB so it shows well !! I can see the mark but it is tiny !! That may be a lower case g rather than an a !! I would bet it is the decorators initial !! Many factories used a persons initial to see who did the work on that piece !! They were paid per piece completed !! The number is either the shape number or pattern number !! Only helpful to the factory that made it !! It is not a factory backstamp !!
