This small teapot appears to be made of a white clay or stoneware. There is no makers mark. I would like to know if it is a real primitive/antique piece or not. Measures 4 3/4 in. across x 2 1/2 in. tall to tip of handle. Any info that could help me identify age or were it was made would be awesome. Thank you in advance for your time and kindness
These occasionally show up along the North Eastern coastal areas or any where whaling was common !! Although any oil or sometimes wax was used as fuel !! Notice the discoloration around the spout where the twisted cotton wick burned !! Where did you find this one ?? I will post your pics on my main forum at www.antique-shop.com to double check and post the link here so you can read all replies !!
