Can you post a link to the ones you saw ?? These are known as Father Christmas figures and were widely advertised and sold from Country Living magazine back in the 80`s !! There were many different styles,,some were carved wood some were apple heads and others were resin figures to mention a few !! The ones I liked were simple painted cypress knees of which I painted quite a few and still have one !! Old issues of Country Living will still have the ads and they used many as decorations in the Christmas issue pictures !!
