i purchased these at a Estate Sale because I thought they were unique and matched my bathroom. A friend told me he thought they were something called Fire Grenades and should put them in my hutch.I do not know if they are? So it is my hopes someone else may have seen these before? Thank you!

Wish I could say,, yes they are or no they are not but sometimes its just not that simple !! Use your best judgement !! Sometimes thats as good as we can do !!

I think the mystery has been solved!!! Thank you Martha for all your time and expertise! Now I just need to find the holder for these. 😀

Well,, that helps a lot !! Makers in France did make several different types of fire grenades that are different from ours in the U.S. !! The excessive air bubbles do make me think that they may be repro`s !! The bubbles in modern glass are done as a decorative element !! And when I say modern I am talking about most of the 20th century !! Hand blown glass should have a few scattered bubbles but I have only seen the excessive amounts after about 1980 or so !!
And I forgot to ask if you are in the U.S. ??

Another option !!

Thank you for your time, expertise and direction. When I purchased these the family ask me if I knew what they were? No I did not, I just liked them. It was a high-end Estate Sale with lovely french and Italian treasures. I found these in an old pantry located in the basement. By the amount of dust on them they appeared to have been in there for quite some time.

**6.5 inches tall
**no markings
**many air bubbles
**neck is heavier glass than the bulbous body.

Thank you!!!

This article will give you some information !! Did you ask when you purchased them what they were ?? Are they blown in a single piece or do they have a seam on the sides ?? Look at the base to see if there are any identifying numbers or letters !! The glass should be thin so to be easily broken !! Green and cobalt blue are the rare colors so its always possible that they are reproductions !! Check the size,, most fire grenades are between 6 and 8 inches tall !! There were a few smaller but these are harder to find !! And its also possible that these are hand blown bud vases that may have had a wire stand or a hanging wire similar to those found on Amazon !!
Just a few things to think about and check !!
