My Grandfather recently passed away and he left behind quite the collection of interesting items. My mother is trying to resolve the issues with California and his estate, so she asked me to look into all of his curiosities to see if they would have value to anyone out there. I have uploaded several dozen pictures to my public flickr page, and I was hoping some people would be willing to take a look. I don’t have the slightest idea where to start.
Now, I’ve already been scolded on another antiques forum for posting, “143 pictures of hundreds of items”, which is an odd way of saying 143 pictures of a few dozen items. Anyway, I’m most certainly not asking for/expecting full, in depth evaluations of every single item, accounts of previous auctions of similar items, etc, etc.
I would, however, be extremely grateful if anyone would take 5 minutes and quickly browse through the pics on flickr and simply let me know if there is anything there that looks familiar and a hint as to where to begin my research. For example, “hey, I know what all those faces on the wall are … those are called ‘such and such'”. That would be wonderful if anyone were so inclined. You could even just type a few words under the picture itself if that would be easier. Thanks for looking and thanks for any info you can give.
