You have a sieve which can be used as a strainer !! It was commonly used to press fruit through with the pestle for jams and other preserves !! The cooked fruit was placed in the cone and the pestle was rotated and pressed !! This removed seeds and peels from cooked fruits !! Then the remainder was made into jams and other preserves!! Then seeds and peel could be discarded !! Very handy item,, I have one and it is used regularly !! I think some even used it for ricing cooked potatoes for mashed potatoes although I have not tried that !!
