Hi

I have had no luck identifying these plates that were my grandmothers. I think she got them in the 1940s or 50? My mom remembers them from her childhood (1940s)

There are NO markings on the bottom at all. We’re missing a few, and I’d like to replace them – but its impossible without a name of a manufacturer or pattern.

Thank you

I’m not sure on this but I think you may have what is now known as California Pottery. There was 5 major plant’s that produced these heavy colorful dishes like your Gramma’s. Bauer, Metlox, Vernon kilns, Gladding mcBean and Pacific clay works. Pacific made these colorful and later some pastels beginning in 1932, They used to make tiles also and alot were not marked and a few other tile plants made dinnerware when business was slow and no marks. If your dinnerware is heavy and thick and strong it’s possible they came from Calif. They are all listed under California pottery. It’s a place to start your search, in the meantime I will look in other books I have. Good Night
