Hi was wondering if anyone could help identifying this item. I think it maybe silver plate but no identifying marks and did think at first it was some kind of letter holder but am really not sure now.

Yours is older and for a different instrument but this is it !! Fits on a musical instrument and holds sheet music upright !!
