Wondering if anyone could tell me what exactly this is??……
Trying to find it on the net, but no joy at all……Think id maybe it might be a reproduction of some sort. Any help appreciated.
I can’t upload a pic right now, but it is a porcelain nodding head figurine….. it originally came as a matching pair.
I am at a loss as to what it is supposed to be portraying, possibly a clergyman or choirboy of some sort?
It is a mainky white figure with blue accents in the hat, shoulders, sleeves and front of the smock, tunic? he’s wearing. His toes peek out of the bottom of the smock and are gilded. There is also gilding and some detailing to the front of him.
His face is detailed with blonde hair under the hat. He also appears to be holding something in his hand.
I can see no makers mark as such, other than a scribble in the inside of the base of him. It looks like initials.Other than that I know nothing of it, onky that it was passed onto my grandfather from his mother. My grandfather was 84. Thank you. X
