The Hershey Creamery is in no way connected to the Hershey candy family !! The Hershey Creamery made ice cream, ice milk, frozen yogurt ect !! There have been several lawsuits between the two companies !! As to value,, I know you can look through ebay and see ridiculous prices,,,but you do not see any bids or sales do you ??
These old milk cans are not exactly in the collectors realm due to the size !! Who would be most likely to want the can would be someone connected to the company or creamery !! Here in my area you can buy milk cans from various dairies for $20. !!~ Since yours has the name of a creamery and if you are in that area, I would say yours might bring &50. to $75. on a good day !! They are nice to have but hard to sell !!
Thanks for looking, and for the timely response.
I am mostly looking for information regarding the value of it. I see a lot of milk cans listed for sale in different places, but none from Hershey Creamery…..is this something that would be considered a crossover collectible due to it coming from there? i know a lot of folks collect Coca Cola, John Deere, etc….
It was acquired through family members in the late 60s. I believe it to be 10 gal, although I’m not sure. Handles are swing type, as opposed to welded. The can reads:
HERSHEY CREAMERY
SOLD TO
There are no other markings that I can see. Any help will be appreciated.
