I would be grateful for any input on this item It was bought many years ago in a junk shop. I was wondering if anyone on this forum might have any idea of what it is. Diameter 21.5 cm. I have attached pictures of the front and back. In the centre of the front is some writing in a unfamiliar script – could it be Greek? There are repair staples visible on the back which indicates a piece considered by someone as important. I wonder it it is somehow related to Fatimid or Iranian lustre ware? Or am off the track?
