Could someone please help me identify this mark?? I have a old, bar pin, dark metal in color, has “diamond finish” stamped on the back. I know there’s no diamonds on the pin, just want to know what it means so I can explain it properly. I’ve looked all over the web and have no idea what it means specifically.
I can’t figure out how to attach a pic, so sorry.

Thanks!

Can you post a pic front and back ?? Or load them to photobucket and post a link !! Diamond finish is simply a method used to dress up jewelry a bit !! I used gold as an example !! If its stamped in it could also be a brand name !!
Hard to figure out without seeing it !!

Thanks for replying. This isn’t diamond finish on gold to make it sparkle, It’s a antique, pot metal, bar pin, clear rhinestones. It’s stamped “diamond finish” like sterling silver would be stamped on a peice of silver.

From what I found a diamond finish is done by making tiny diamond shaped cuts in the surface of the gold !! It reflects more light from the angles and makes gold jewelry sparkle !! Its usually used in combination with the smooth gold which adds interest to the jewelry !! There is another finish which is similarly used that you may know called Florentine finish !! Same principle !!
