I got this metal “pitcher” at an auction. Anyone know what this is?

Correction…the letter are a-n minus the j
No…the letters do not go all the way around
The letters sound the side begin with a 6 and then go a through n. I assumed the mark on the bottom is the maker’s mark? The picture of that is taken a 5x magnification. Any ideas on what it even is?
