I have a Sears and Roebuck heavy industrial Tanker desk and matching chair. The Pencil drawer and Chair have the word “TOWER” on it. McDoweel-Craig, Art Case, General Fireproofing and Steelcase are manufacture names that come up again and again. I am not able to find anything online or my local library or calls to the Chicago museum. Was this manufactured for the Sears Tower in Chicago or just a product line available to the public in the 1940’s and 1950’s. Help!

Sears Tower was started in 1970 so these desks were quite a few years before that !! There are many of these desks online so Tower likely was a brand name !! But Sears and other retailers of the time usually contracted for this type thing and “Tower” may have been used only for those sold by Sears !! It may have been their store brand !!
Seems they are quite popular today with those that like the Retro style !!
