What was the purpose of using gilt in the bowl of a spoon instead of silver? Does it have to do with salt? Is it better to buy a serving spoon with gilt or without if it is not used frequently? Thanks
I have never heard of one like that !! Can you post a pic and see who the silversmith is on the back ?? Also what is the size of the spoon ??
