I have been using Pledge and/or Liquid Gold sprayed on a flannel cloth to dust my antique chests and tables for 25+ years with no problem. My cleaning woman of 1 1/2 years has used Swiffer dusters exclusively (and no other product) in all that time, and recently I noticed that the furniture finishes have become very dull. I can only assume that the Swiffers have microscopically scratched the finishes, since nothing else has changed. Does anyone have any experience with this or have any comments about Swiffer dusters? And how can I restore the finishes to their original shine?
