I think the comment that “the current interests of collectors” indicated by the “Top 20” list needs to be taken with a grain of salt. My feeling, of what’s going on, is that the interest in the older school categories, such as Occupied Japan, Copeland, Bavaria, Belleek, Wedgwood and Carnival Glass, are categories reflecting people only wanting to sell collections. They are not “interested” in the subject, other than to dispose of these things. These categories, in the buying and selling world, are very slow, excepting the extremely rare and desirable items. Categories, such as gasoline, automotive, advertising, and a few others are still quite hot, and are definitely leaps and bounds ahead of almost all of the things on the Top 20 list, in my opinion, and experience, these days.
Sincerely,
John

I agree with you except for maybe the carnival glass. As far as occupied Japan, you can’t give it away and the Avon crap, It can’t even get a bid at auctions. What I find hot is kitchen items from 40-50-60 ties, fire king, pyrex, good heavy pots and pans and older Corelle.
