Hey All!
I recently bought this Print Butter Carrier at an antique emporium, and while I love it, I would also love to know more about it. I have tried to research butter storage online, and although I’ve found articles on firkins, tubs, Bradley boxes, and other round shapes, I’ve had trouble figuring out where this one fits into history. I would love to have any info on the wood type, age, and if anyone knows what “K&W” is/was. On the top middle inside of the lid, there is a handwritten “No 2” and the fasteners on the front push down to lock the lid in place. I am a huge collector of old wooden boxes, and once I find an area in the house to prominently display it, I would like to be able to tell people just where exactly it came from. Thank you all so much for any info you may have! (and if anyone knows of anyone I should get in touch with for more info, that’s awesome too!)
