We have a carriage that has set on my family’s mantle for 50+ years. Story had it that it was my grandmother’s, and that she brought it over from Scotland (she emigrated to this country in 1929). Everyone in my family who would know anything is deceased now. I am curious to see if anyone knows anything about this carriage – mostly because I’ll be passing it on to my kids and would like to tell them!
It is very heavy and appears to be made of iron, red-brown in color. Wheels move, glass in windows is very thick with a greenish tint. Oddly, it is wired to light up a small bulb inside. It is about 16″ long, 10″ tall, and 5″ wide.
I know this probably isn’t the kind of thing y’all are interested in – but I’d really appreciate any information anyone can offer. Thank you!
Your pic is not loading probably because it is too large for this site !! Can you post the pics to photobucket.com and just give a link to that page !! Really need to see what it looks like !! Especially the wiring, plug and light !!
Well,, there is no one here but me and I am interested in everything !!
