I have been trying for eight years to find out what this is and what it is worth. People have offered to buy it for $50 many times, but I suspect it has more value than that.
I’ve tried professors at universities, government employees, friends, WWII buffs and even a dentist who knew someone who could translate Japanese.
I’ve sent a photo layout of the item and its parts to people in both hard copy and digitally. Not one person has been able to identify this artifact or its dollar value.
I’d sell it if I knew the real value.
Unfortunately, I can’t get the forum to post either a pdf file of photos or even one jpg so I can’t attach photos. The item is in a canvas box with Japanese or Chinese writing. The item is so complex and has so many pieces to it, it is impossible to describe without the photos, so I don’t know how to get opinions on what it is.:S
