Hi, I have just inherited a few piece from a relative who was a complete hoarder and looking to find out some more about the item. It looks like a decanter type bottle with a pull out stopper. Bottom of the bottle says Brentleigh Ware.
Sadly it’s mixed it with a lot of tat, this house is a throwback
and not having a clue I don’t want to throw out anything that’s valuable.
Well I emailed the owner of that site and he came back to me saying it was worth around 500 RAND which for me in the UK is 22GBP or USD32. So not really that much. Just polishing up some silver cigarette boxes which look interesting and I have a set of wade elephants, train of 5 looking at places on the internet from 1956.
I do not think it would be enough value wise to have it appraised !! That could cost you more than the jug is worth !! I found some on Worthpoint but had no top !! I will keep looking to see what shows up on the net !! Yes ,, be careful when goiung through things !! I have seen people throwing things away that were worth money !! AS long as you have a computer,, research is easy !! If you have problems post it here and we can both search for it !!
