I recently found a set of 5-1/2″ bowl at an estate sale. They are marked in green Made in Germany, then in a green oval American Beauty Semi-Hand Painted, and below is J.H.R. & Co. They have pink and ivory roses with gold trim, a scalloped beaded edge and an iridescent finish. I haven’t been able to find out anything about them. I’m not sure if JHR & Co is the maker or importer. Does anyone know the maker or age? Thanks

J.H.R.&Co. stands for John H. Roth & Co. from South Bend, Indiana (later Merritt Island, Florida).

That mark is a pure importer/distributor mark, meaning that you will probably never find out who exactly made your item as the owner of the mark purchased items from numerous German manufacturers.
