As a novice at posting in this forum, the photograph of one of two of the jars, did not attached. Please see the attached photograph.
This is a follow on from our original posting. Thanks.

Dear Martha,

Thank you so much for your research ! Please do thank Matt for me.

I think that it would be safe to say that they are Antique Satsuma Ginger Jars, from Matt’s guidance and having a look at similar types of jars on Google.

Would you have any idea of how I could obtain an idea as to their worth ?

Much appreciated once again.

Best regards,
Martin

Asked Mat to take a look and you can read the reply here !! He says they are Satsuma Rather than Imari !! Both are Japanese exports but different styles !! Usually the marks are not helpful on these pieces !! Mat handles these things regularly and is quite experienced !!

Will let you know what they say about the marks !!

Looks like your jars are Japanese Imari ware !! Arita is another area where these may be from and are basically the same type !! The names are from the ports where shipped,,, these are all Japanese exports !! !! I do not read the writing but often they just identify the area where made !! I am going to cross post this to another forum to be sure !! One of the members there is well educated on these things !! He may know the marks !!
