Hi and thanks for this info. It gives me something else to search for. However, the handle and base are not silver, or metal of any kind. They are some kind of lightweight material that appears to be stained or painted. Perhaps a light wood or another kind of ceramic.

I saw this on a recent ‘Antiques Road Show’ on PBS. I don’t recall that well at age 76, but I think they said it was a bride basket or something like that. I think you could inquire through their web page. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/roadshow/
They were saying that the silver part was usually a stock item in times past and that the ceramic part was often special made but that a number of selections were kept in store. It was a mix and match type of thing.
I could be wrong about what they called as I was doing something else and not paying close attention.
