Hiya folks. I’m hoping that someone may recognize this advertising merch and be able to tell me who it was made for, by whom and perhaps the era. I only have the one pic as I purchased the piece at auction and don’t have it yet.

Thanks tons

Heya Carolyn,

As always thanks for responding. My lead on this being an advertising piece was from the auction house where I purchased it. That’s what they felt it was and that seemed reasonable to me but you are right, I am too young even at 47 to recognize this piece. From the looks of the outfit on the fella I would say this is a late 30’s or maybe 1940’s item, maybe earlier.

There is a really simple explanation though as to why I post such oddball items. I’m pretty competent at doing my own research so I generally just reach out with hard to figure items lol….

It’s completely plausible that this isn’t an advertising piece and comics is definitely a good angle. I have no idea what the GR stands for and that is the biggest part of the problem I figure.

Based on the look of this guy, I think he is wearing an apron and a hat like we used to wear in diner kitchens back in the day and that’s what made me think as well that it might be an advertising piece.

Appreciate your input.

The hunt continues :{)=
