I am trying to find out if this pair of antique porcelain figurines is Majolica. They each measure approximately 8 1/2″ tall and are marked with the number 2399 on the back. The male figurine also has a mark inside of it that looks like a red J E. Any help is greatly appreciated.

These look more like bisque figurines !! Majolica iis a thick glossy tin glazed pottery known for its depth of color !!
What do these figurines feel like ?? Slightly rough or silky smooth ??

Thanks for the reply! They are definitely porcelain and feel very smooth.
