My house was built in Shaker Heights Ohio in 1925 by Edward D. McDonald. He was the owner/architect. He was also an artist. I’ve found him associated (in a minor way) with the Cleveland School – where Viktor Schreckengost was very active.

Anyway, there are some interesting terracotta tiles in the vestibule and around the fireplace. I was trying to figure out if Edward had designed them himself because one of them looks just like his logo. Then I stumbled on the images of the Grueby tiles. Now I’m wondering if they’re Grueby. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I can only attach one image, so I chose the one of the horse.

Here’s another tile. Not sure what it is.

My first image was too big. Here’s another try.
