Hello.
I need some help with identifying what this dog figurine is, or what it is used for, and a possible age.
It is ceramic or porcelain. It measures about 10 1/2 inches long and it has holes all along the course of its body and the top of his head. There is an opening on the bottom of one of the back feet, one of the front feet, and the bottom of the ears is open where it would touch the table surface.
The only identification is a label that says “patent applied for.”
I thought this might be some type of flute, but I tried that route and get no sound.
Any help is appreciated!
Think I might have found out what this is. Just was looking in a book tonight titled Antique Trader “Salt and Pepper Shaker” Price Guide by Mark F. Moran. On page 55 I noticed this. Photo attached. The description states “Stretch Dachshund, one piece with salt at one end and pepper at other, with decal for Hills of Indiana 1950’s, made in Japan $35.00-$45.00
Hope this helps.
