I have this pottery pitcher 6-8 inches tall and the only mark on it is a circle around a shield and the number 121 on the shield.
How can I find out about this piece?

No. cannot identify your pottery mark. Not enough info, about how old, the color, any design on it. There was hundreds of potteries that the only mark is a shape or mold number such as Shawnee, Red wing, RumRill, haeger and the list goes on.
