A couple of months ago my 106 yo aunt gave me these dishes that she has been saving for me for years. She has recently taken a turn for the worst and is not well enough to provide more information on them. I know she was born in Italy and came to the US as a child. She has spent most of her life in California. My grandma remembers them from over 65 years ago but doesn’t know any more.
I’ve looked online many places and have only found info on one site, but it doesn’t have much to give. Any help would be appreciated. Better sites to search, antique stores in Portland Oregon you like, better keywords to search?
I am curious why people are so fascinated by pattern “names”. As if these would increase value or massively help finding other pieces nowadays. German (and many Bohemian) producers very rarely named their patterns but left that to the importers/distributors. As result, each and every pattern may or may not have at least two names worldwide. There are even cases in which a pattern has two official names in the US alone (one West Coast and one East Coast name) depending on who imported/distributed the goods.
It is of course hard to find additions or comparable items to check pricing but today nearly everybody uses a mix of perceived ‘original’ names, some made up eBay nonsense, and the non-official Replacements.com stock codes. Don’t ask me why. As result, even knowing a specific name does not guarantee anything..
