I saw the number and the sticker which says nothing worthwhile,, If it was a serial number by a manufacturer,, it should be no problem to look up !! Let me know when you find it because I have looked at everything I can find online !! With the KIO with the number and with the sticker !! I have never known a serial number on pottery of any king except as stated earlier !! They use shape or mold numbers, decorators marks size numbers and some have pattern numbers !! Because the number is hand written I doubt its anything relevant to the figurine or it could be found !!
The crackle glaze is commonly used in todays ceramics/pottery and has been for years !! Only items that might have a serial number would be the limited edition pieces and they are marked as such !! Registration numbers were used in the UK !! Post a pic of an American piece with a known serial number because in 40 years of dealing with antique and vintage items I have never seen one !! !! It will say “serial number”, if it has one !! This has the K-10 and copyright symbol made in the mold so I know they did not make just one,, it was a factory piece !! In the USA any work of art, which would include this duck is automatically under copyright from the moment of its conception so there is really no reason to register it at all but many do for extra protection if its a unique design !!, I did not find this one as having been registered !!
Need to see the number on bottom !! What is that small piece of paper on it ?? It is K 10 indicating it is 10 inches tall !! That is a design copyright !! They do not use serial numbers on ceramics,, most likely it is a mold number !!
The duck is taller than 10 inches.
I have ceramics with serial numbers, so I know they do use them.
I added more photos of the sticker on the front, which explains the crackle glaze used on the duck.
The edge on the base says KIO (C) USA
It’s not K10, it is KIO.
It has a serial number written on the bottom, as the photos show. It also has a manufacturer’s pre-printed sticker which explains the crackle glaze.
