This is a beautiful blue glazed CHINESE POTTERY VASE with large crackle pattern. The vase measures approximately 7 1/2″ high by roughly 4 1/2″ at the widest point. It has a small 1 3/4″ opening with a rim that is 3 1/8″ across X 1/2″ before it tapers down to a slightly narrower neck. There is an alternating row of 4 large and 4 small nodules or bumps that encircle the top area of the bulbous body. The vase tapers down to a 2 1/2″ diameter X 1/2″ high footed base. The glaze is a beautiful shade of blue (almost a grey blue) with a large darkened crackle pattern. By using a jeweler’s magnifier or loupe I can actually see a hair-line cracks in the porcelain glaze along the surface that follows the black lines.
I am hoping that you may be able to tell me how old it might be or the era/style of the piece.
