Two possibilities for this plate,, what is called clobbering, where the decoration is a combination of transferware and hand decorating with the gold applied over the transferware background !! Or Japanese Lustreware Moriage style which is done in a similar manner !! Hand applied gold enameling that is easily felt with the hand !! Both styles are raised enamel !! Chinese is also a possibility !! Will post this thread to another forum (with link to follow) and see if we can determine the mark !!

The mark pictured is the only mark.

Under magnification the brush strokes are visible. I have attached close-up pictures.

Is that the only mark on the back ?? Can you take a closer shot of the front ?? Pretty sure it is not hand painted !!
