Hi Everyone and Happy Labor Day!

I’m new here and had a question if anyone has any info. I was given a beautiful piece from a neighbor that passed away of what I thought was Wedgwood but after combing through this website I think it might be Dudson. I almost gave it away to another friend who knew her but I wanted to figure out its worth. I have spent over 3 hours today and I have not found one picture of this item on any internet site. If anyone has any info I would appreciate it. I would hate to give it away if it is worth a lot. Here is the info and pic

Dudson/Wedgwood? jasper ware large cheese dome plate H 7″ (without finial) W 7″
Plate 10″
Color: green
Grapevine pattern
No cracks or chips
Marks on bottom of plate: w
Marks inside dome: 302 and w tall #8
If it is Wedgwood I think it is around 1860’s because of the w

Thanks again if you can share any info (Wedgwood or Dudson) etc. If there are no pictures of this item on the internet does that mean it is rare and worth more? HMmm… Maybe I should give my friend something else of hers as a memory and I should keep this one.

Please help!

Thank you so much!

Again, Happy Labor Day!

It is not Wedgwood or Dudson,, neither one ever used that type mark !! Wedgwood marks were always spelled out with the exception of a W and B mark for Wedgwood and Bentley !! Several potteries made jasperware but none I found used that mark !! But I am still looking !!

Here are the Dudson marks,, prior to 1860 they were either marked “Dudson” only or not marked at all !! I found two others with a fern pattern but same finial as yours!! One was marked “GP” and the other was unmarked but attributed to Dudson !! The finial is the problem,, I can not find anywhere that Dudson made that finial !!
