I need help identifying this vase. It is heavy stoneware type pottery with very brilliant raised enamel workon it. There are two different motifs which repeate around the vase. It has no mark of any kind on the bottom. Measurements are; approximately 7&1/4″ high, approx. 8&1/4″ at the bulbous, opening is 4&1/4″, base is 3&3/4″. I have no idea what this is but in my 40+ years of collecting I have never seen anything like it. I have a gut felling it is something good!
marshahill The 3rd picture back or the 5th picture from the beginning shows the entire bottom of the vase. the last two pictures were trying to show the thickness of the bottom ring and thr fact that the enameling was slightly raised higher than the un enameled portion of the vase. If you have any ideas what it may be I can try to do recearch. I just do not even have any idea where to start looking. It is a beautiful piece and i have a strong gut feeling about it. After 45 years of buying, selling, and collecting antiques, I have learned to listen to my gut a little. Thanks again for any help you can provide for me.
