Should the Enterprise Inc coffee mills (Philadelphia PA) from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s always have two wooden handles, one on each cast iron wheel?
I have seen many where only one wheel is present, and there is a hole with a metal surrounding for a second wheel. I’d like to understand if a second handle was optional, or if in all cases one handle being present means the second handle was lost somewhere in it’s life time.
What about no handles? Was that an option as well when an original purchaser ordered one?
Thanks!
