Hi All,

I found this unusual figural bank at a thrift store in New Jersey. At first I thought it was a teapot, but then realized it was a bank with a slot at the back and a rubber stopper in the base (rubber has hardened). It is quite big, standing 11″ tall.

It has no markings and I haven’t been able to find any information on it. Please could you review the images and advise? I’d love to know the origin and age.

Thanking you in advance for any info!

GROUP OF GERMAN PORCELAIN NIGHT LIGHTS, TOGETHER WITH FIGURAL TEAPOT AND MATCHING STILL BANK.

There are a few teapot banks listed on ebay but have not seen one like this !! Can you post a pic of the bottom of it ?? It shows no age or wear that I can see !! Seeing the bottom will help determine age !!

Update,,found two of these at the link at top !! One was a teapot and another as a teapot bank !! Said these were made in Germany !! Age given as first half of 20th century, but my opinion is mid century or after !!

Thanks so much! I’ve attached the image with message below.

Martha,

I came across a similar version on etsy at the following link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/123912436/vintage-little-old-lady-teapot-mrs?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=lady%20teapot&ref=sr_gallery_1

I’m not sure which would have been made first, but thought perhaps this would be helpful in dating it.

Thanks again!
