Hello,

I’m trying to find information about this family heirloom. However, I have no idea where to start.

Any help of where I should begin my research would be greatly appreciated.

I am hoping to learn about who made it and the time period it came from.

I’m not sure if it’s a soup tureen or a mulled wine bowl (since it’s German). It does have a hole for a ladle.

The mark on the bottom has OTTO below an eagle/bird, it says made in Germany and has 564 on it.

Have not found any thing that is similar to this mark !! But we have members that are expert on German pottery and porcelain !! Perhaps they will look in soon !! I am sure they will know what it is !! The “Made in Germany” would date it to the 20th century !!

I suspect it’s mid 20th century. It came into the family when my great grandfather performed a service for a neighbour in Brazil who didn’t have money to offer and insisted on gifting him the item. My mother, who told me the story, was born in 1949.
