I inherited this (partial) coffee set from my German great-grandmother. It doesn’t feature a maker’s mark, only gold hand painted numerals (12966 and either g, k or or s) on the bottom of most pieces along with a “raised” number 2 (?) on the bottom of the coffee pot (pic attached). I’m interested in learning who manufactured it and an approximate time period. Any information is appreciated!
Oh !! I did not say that !! But I personally do not recognize it !! My suggestion would be to send good pics of the pieces with the handle to www.replacements.com,,( Look at home page) !! They have a free matching service and they handle many of these unknowns daily !! Their researchers will match the pattern for you !! With that unique handle they should not have much trouble !! I know others that have used the service and were happy with the results !!
Is there a different impressed number on the other pieces ?? Beautiful set !! Many things are/were not marked and only info comes from the family member that owned it !! The numbers that are usually found are the pattern number,,12966,,the decorators mark,,S,, and the shape number which would be impressed in the mold,, 2 !! Many did not have a pattern name,,just a number !!
