I figured it was a shield, but couldn’t find a matching mark, so thought it might be something else.

Unfortunately, that’s the only mark on the plate. The plates date to approximately the 1930’s or 1940’s I believe.

Are there any other marks? I’m not familiar with the one in your picture, but I believe it is described as Crown & Shield, rather than Cape 🙂
