I recently picked this vase up at a thrift store just because I like the design…it called to me from amongst the hundreds of miscellaneous pieces on the shelf!

I didn’t even turn it upside down to look for a mark until after I got it home. “Merlin” is written in handwritten
script, with “85” right underneath it, then some signature/symbol/??? underneath that. Can anyone tell me who made this?

There was a Merlin Pottery here in England back in the 60s but they used an impressed mark.
Eventhough its not apopular first name these days there are many people around with the name.

What you probably have is a vase made by a student named Merlin in 1985 or the 85 could mean other things. i have never heard of any pottery company or none ever on E-bay named “Merlin” Many schools and colleges have pottery and art class shops.
