Hello,

please help with identifying this procelain figurine. It’s most likely bisque and has a BL monogram signature with 321 as well as a carved in G at the bottom.

All help greatly appreciated.

You didn`t post that you were in the UK !! I searched the U.S and I did look at Burgess and Leigh but since we are just volunteers here !! Did not have time to research further !! My apologies for thinking it was made here !! The above is who I look to for UK based ceramics and pottery !! !! But it was a different site I checked for this one and they only had the commercial stamps listed !! However I did re-check a few things and while Burgess and Leigh dinnerware does well the figurines and toby mugs are less than you expect !! I checked about a dozen for prices and did include Worthpoint although it is essentially ebay prices !! Current sale prices are less than $25. USD !! With many less than $10. including figurines and Toby mugs !!

Hello Martha. Its been awhile..I am in the USA. Are you referring to the OP? Anyhow, would you happen to have any idea on how to look up the name of someone who signed an old Royal Worcester Chocolate pot I just picked up? His initials are BK. thanks. ss

There’s literally 3200 Burgess Leigh items in worth point you can search for scrooge figure so there is at least one figurine they did. THey did a lot of toby mugs

Martha what references are you using? This mark appears to be Burgess and Leigh a staffordshire potter from c1862-1930. This from a paid data base

Commercial figurines will usually have the mark as a stamp or impressed in the mold !! !! The numbers on the bottom are mold numbers !! There is no commercial pottery that I have found with those initials !! Most likely these initials are decorators marks !! The other possibility is that this was someones hobby piece and the initials were written before firing so they would get the correct one back !! The scratched in G is hand done and commercial potteries do not do this !! I would say its probably a hobby piece !! Back in the late 1980`s and early 90`s there were ceramic shops in every town !! It was quite a popular hobby !! My little town had two ceramic shops !!
